Argh! This was a clear typo, err, typed in the wrong window error. I
replaced the existing string with mere spam chars before :/

Will fix this. Was away for a travel during the last 2 weeks.

Empathy: minor string change

Hi guys,

A contributor submit a patch fixing some strings to be properly
translatable:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=613117

I let translators decide if it makes sense to merge it for 2.30 or not.

Sure, this is critical as these strings are not translated without the
patch. Approval 1/2 and 2/2 as the proposal initially comes from Gabor.

Is rosseta F**ing GNOME git?

Hi all,

I just found a file translated to Basque lang, which it wasn't uploaded
by me (Basque translation team leader). This translation was not revised
by me and contains multiple errors and does not follows basque
translation style.

Please, could somebody explain me how did happened? Does Rosseta system
have grants to upload unreviewed POs to GNOME's git?

Those kind of translations are F**NG basque translations quality!!
And yes! I'm really angry with this kind of cases!!

Is there any way to avoid that kind of access?

Re: Is rosseta F**ing GNOME git?

2010-03-17 Thread dooteo
As fast as I detect this problem, I translated eu.po file from scratch
and uploaded it. So now, eu.po file is Okey in Contacts module.

Best regards,

Dooteo

Contacts wasn't always in GNOME git. Could've been uploaded while it
wasn't on git.gnome.org. Perhaps when adding to damned-lies a more clear
notification should go out to check existing translations?

The person uploading it is one of the maintainers of the module.
Friendly reminder that it is now part of GNOME git should be enough.

While having a look at http://git.gnome.org/browse/contacts/log/
it shows that Ross Burton simply added translations from Moblin,
http://translate.moblin.org/ (nothing to do with launchpad/rosetta).
See, for example,
http://git.gnome.org/browse/contacts/commit/?id=1199a97e5c502f215e29f5f92758a489e703c3f2

The way to deal with this is to ask politely the view of Ross and take
it from there.

Ross, normally translations at git.gnome.org are managed by the
translation teams
of the GNOME Translation Project. It is not common to have
translations inserted
from other sources. You need to talk to the coordinators of the
language teams first
before committing .po files.

It appears that your GNOME git account was used to push translations
to git.gnome.org from http://translate.moblin.org/.
Probably those translations happened at
http://translate.moblin.org/projects/p/upstream-translations/

Could we have your views on this?

Simos

Bright! It could be great when a new module is added to Damned-lies a
notify will be submitted to us (GNOME translators) in case it has some
PO translated. So l10n teams could check if their style guide is applied
to correspondant po file, of if they have to fix some messages.

Thanks and best regards,

Yeap, might be when it was imported. And yes, a notification would be
very nice.

This adds at least one new string (not sure if the other ones are still
in the po files). So cc'ing gnome-i18n.

I think the patch should go in since it's a highly visible error dialog
on upgrades, so I'm giving a second approval for the hard code freeze
break.

Translators: the strings appearing in the patch are:
 Keyboard Indicator (Deprecated)
 Keyboard layout indicator
 Keyboard Indicator
Is this fine for you?

Most probably, the string is already translated, I guess. But anyway,
notifying GTP never hurts...
