Re: i keep *trying* to move from portupgrade to portmaster

2010-08-13 Thread Eduardo
Just curious, is it really true that portupgrade is "abandonware" ?

I think I have seen some updates to it on the ports tree in the last
six months ...

thanks,

about molden4.5 in 5.5-RELEASE

2007-08-16 Thread Eduardo
Hi Porters

Thank you for support us!!!

I am having problems to install the almost newest (the newest is molden4.6)
molden to FreeBSD5.5-p#15.

The compilation log file is attched in this email.

I think it is important to say: I updated to newest Xorg (xorg-7.2) last week.
Older molden versions compiled
under XF86 are still running, but not the 4.5 version

Thanks for you attention

Yours

Eduardo

About biology/molden

2015-11-06 Thread Eduardo Lemos de Sa
Dear FreeBSDers

Thank you for provide us a useful tool to port several softwares to FreeBSD.

I am running

FreeBSD matata 10.2-RELEASE-p7 FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-p7 #15 r290372: Wed
Nov 4 19:42:10 BRST 2015 edulsa@matata:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC
amd64

Late on time, I got the port biology/molden (version 5.0.7) compiled in
FreeBSD. Since there, I noticed that a new version of this software is
avaliable (5.3). So, I tried to compiled applying hints presente in
makefile using gcc48/gfortran48. But, I stuck in a error message related to
xwin.c:

xwin.c:(.text+0x854b4): warning: warning: mktemp() possibly used unsafely;
consider using mkstemp()
xwin.o: In function `mloop':
xwin.c:(.text+0x401c7): undefined reference to `Timer'
xwin.c:(.text+0x40423): undefined reference to `Timer'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
makefile:270: recipe for target 'molden' failed
gmake: *** [molden] Error 1

So, is there a problem related to Timer calls. But, I compared the new
xwin.c with the 5.0.7 xwin.c file: there is no difference related to Timer
calls (of course, there are additions, but none of them is calling Timer).
So, I conclude that the problem is due some system variable or library that
I did not set. Please, do you have some hints to solve this problem?

The makefile that I am using is attached in this email, as well the total
output from compilation process.

Thank you in advance

Cheers

Eduardo

About moldenogl in biology/molden

2014-09-05 Thread Eduardo Lemos de Sa
Dear Porters

First it all, I wish to say thank for support us to have molden running in
FreeBSD.

I got compiled and run the last port to molden (molden5.0.7_1,1) without
problems. But, I notice that a software (moldenogl) was not installed. I
could compiled after unpack molden5.0.7.tgz in another directory and
editing (a little) makefile. Comparing my makefile with makefile from
ports, I couldn't notice any difference. So, I tried to compile your port
(adding moldenogl to the list archives where there are molden gmolden surf
ambfor) but I was unsucessfull. Please, could you point what I must to do
add moldenogl to this suit or could you add it?

In attchment, the Makefile modified by me after editing your Makefile in
ports

Thank you in advance

Yours

Eduardo

cpdup in ports comes from old matt dillon pages and is version1.18.
DragonflyBSD has version 1.32 at [1][2] and compiles with low effort on
FreeBSD.

For me it has better performance, the BSD licence and promote/use BSD
borned tools, for me it's a plus.

*Jive, also known as the Jive Filter, is a novelty computer program that
*converts plain English to a comic dialect known as "jive", a parody of
*African American Vernacular English. Some versions of the filter were
*adapted to parody other forms of English speech, such as valspeak,
*cockney, geordie, Pig Latin, and even the Swedish Chef. The latter form
*is sometimes known as the "Encheferator" or "Encheferizer". This family

So it's a parody of multiple english speechs. Also, mark it as
offensive is subjective opinion. Perhaps who made the change could
explain better.

With gcc and Clang/LLVM you can create Windows from scratch ;)

I use it in 2 apps and was posponing the next versions because sctp were
dropped by openssh and libressl.

Nice to see more people are using it and port list cares about it.

Thanks!

What configuration has sqlite in pkg? It looks like it tries to create
wal, temp and/or shm files in current directory. If compile sqlite with
options temp_store = memory, 3, or sets it at open file or as pre open
pragma, temp files won't exist. For shm files and wal, use pragma
directory_data, deprecated sqlite pragma because Windows OS could cause
db corruption, but we are not Windows.

And now that I write it, perhaps it's easier to check if the current
directory exists before opening the db file.
