AOO 4.1.10 Release Notes - what about "feedback"?
Hi, Release Notes 4.0 [*] section "General Remarks", the 5th paragraph: -- As always we welcome your feedback: - Support questions are best directed to our community support forums. - Bug reports (but not support questions) should go to to our Bugzilla issue tracking system. - General questions can also be sent to our public users mailing list. -- I know that hardly anyone reads the Release Notes and the issue is trivial, but I musk ask: Does anyone know / remember why the said paragraph vanished? As of version 4.1, cf. the juxtaposition: https://pasteboard.co/JYMNAbw.jpg Regards, Czesław [*] https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/AOO+4.0+Release+Notes

As you can see the the whole notes are very different compared with the ones from today. Even in the notes for 4.0.1 this text is no longer there. So, it's just the normal thing: Time is going by and things are evolving. ;-) However, we could add it back if you think it's essential. Hi Marcus, Thank you for clarifying. I don't know if it is essential, just a question that occured to me while reading the ReadMe file for the umpteenth time. Time is going by and I am devolving. ;-) Regards, Czesław Am Sa., 24. Re: Ubuntu 21.04 / dark mode
Hi Matthias, all I just installed Ubuntu 21.04 from scratch (formatted the Pop!_OS SSD) and the default theme (Standard) does not cause AOO to switch to the High Contrast icon style. However the problem does occur if the user manually switches to the Dark Appearance. Turning off the Accessibility switch partially solves most of the problem, but there are other small glitches https://imgur.com/a/NFqJqoZ Answering your previous question: no I had not restarted. In the second image from today's Imgur you can see what it looks like with the Automatic Galaxy icons after restart. Personally I don't use dark mode, but it is sort of fashion now. But it is definitely time for an additional (dark mode) icon set and it would be a great exercise for us to integrate a new icon set in the code! I actually like it. But in this case I'm happy it is not the Default theme for Ubuntu 21.04 :) > But it is definitely time for an additional (dark mode) icon set and it > would be a great exercise for us to integrate a new icon set in the code! I agree. The problem is twofold: 1) the licence for the icon themes (can't use GPL) and 2) the current icons are bitmaps (it would be really good if AOO accepted SVG) Regards, Pedro - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org

We you can always create PNG out of SVG, so that should not stop us. However we could start by adding a dark mode icon set and begin with some UI elements. Missing icons fall back to the standard icon set. Of course it would be easier, if we find a free icon theme for dark mode and adapt it.
