I researched webwml/japanese directory and found that japanese/Make.lang
has the following line:
WMLEPILOG = --epilog="$(WMLBASE)/convert $(@F)"
and there exists japanese/convert script with the following contents:
#!/bin/sh
/usr/bin/kcc -kBB $2 > $1
This converts Japanese files (either of EUC-JP, Shift_JIS, and ISO-2022-JP,
automatically detected) into ISO-2022-JP.
Thus, I think this process is not applied to {po,templates}/tmpl.src
(tmpl.$(LANGUAGE).tmpl, strictly speaking) files because of some unknown
reason.
We have to find some way that japanese/convert or kcc is applied
to tmpl.$(LANGUAGE).tmpl files.
Do you have any idea?

I have some difficulites on reading English web page now. international/l10n/po/rank.wml says: The score is the number of translated strings in all PO files. It may not be the best note, but it's the one used... I don't understand the meaning and nuance of "note" and "but it's the one used". -digest lists not generating mail?
Hi. I'm subscribed to two lists, debian-gcc and (quite recently) debian-devel-digest. Nothing ever arrives from the devel-digest list. I was previously subscribed to it, months ago, so I know what it /ought/ to look like. But now that I've re-subscribed, no mail shows up. Could you help me figure out what's wrong? Maybe something shows up in your server logs? Not certain what other information I can give you... Searching for debian packages with keywords does not find relevant entries
Package: www.debian.org Version: n/a The problem became apparent to me when I tried to install the fastCGI library for the apache httpd on my debian system. The corresponding package is called 'libapache-mod-fastcgi', the important contents is the file mod_fastcgi.so. I did not know the name of the package and dselect, searching for 'fast' did not found it either. I went straight to the package search facility (http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages) and tried to search with keywords. Here some example of my unsuccessful searches: - 'fast', 'cgi', 'apache' This turns up 49 entries, but none concerning 'libapache-mod-fastcgi'. - 'fastcgi' 1 entry 'framerd' (Always searcing for 'any','any','allow subwords') After some more of the same failures I turned to google and found rapidly (1st hit !) an usenet post revealing the package name (libapache-mod-fastcgi). Coming back to www.debian.org I found the package without problems searching for the name. In the package description the keywords I used for searching are present. I conclude that searching for keywords is package descriptions is buggy and does not work correctly.
