I've been unofficially debian packaging Navit for the OpenMoko
FreeRunner since late December 2008.
I started from the Carsten Wolff's eee packages available on the
yet-another-geek repository[0]

While there's still a lot of work before attempting an upload to
unstable, I think my package is now in good shape enough to be shared.
So here it is, on my repository[1].

I really want to see Navit in Debian and I intend to continue my work
about it.

May we share our works using the git repo you've pointed above, or do
you prefer I take over this ITP?

Please tell me.

Thank in advance,

-- Gilles.

The packager is also the copyright-holder, but this isn't a serving
application, so I beg you not to change to Affero which still has
significant open questions. (see bug#495721)

Also, ITYM GNU General Public License.

* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Class-XSAccessor-Array

Description : implementation of fast XS accessors without runtime

Class::XSAccessor::Array implements fast XS accessors both for getting
at and setting an object attribute. Additionally, the module supports
mutators and simple predicates (has_foo() like tests for definedness
of an attributes). It works only with objects that are implemented as
arrays. Refer to Class::XSAccessor (libclass-xsaccessor-perl) for an
implementation that works with hash-based objects.
  .
A simple benchmark showed more than a factor of two performance
advantage over writing accessors in Perl.

Bug#515130: Additional information

2009-02-13 Thread Rondal
Hello,

I actually started packaging unrealircd a couple of days ago and the
package is already in an early testing.

There were some issues related to this daemon discussed in ITP #377211.

As mentioned there the license agreement is no longer an issue due to
the removal of the pre-download agreement. But there is still the SSL
vs GPL license incompatibility, so there will be no SSL support in this
package, but I'm planning to include instructions how to include SSL
support into the source package for everyone who is interested in
building the package(s) himself.

I discussed this issue with Upstream, but they are not interested in
adding an exception to the license.

The option to build 3rd party modules for the running IRCd will be
included as a unrealircd-dev package.

Regards,
  Stefan

you're right with saying that most networks customize their servers, but
beside the big networks there are a couple of 'private' networks where
only
minor modifications are needed/wanted. Mostly in form of modules, which is
still possible.

There are a handful of other IRC servers included in debian, where the
same
applies. It seems that there is a userbase.

UnrealIRCd has many licensing and code-quality issues which would block
it's inclusion in a Debian release.

I strongly recommend you do not package this.
