I'm trying to setup squirrelmail with sarge and I have problem about it.
Well, I have installed squirrelmail, then configured squirrelmail, copied
apache.conf to /etc/apache2/conf.d directory and reloaded apache. But I
have got this message.

Maybe, you use incorrect type of LAN cable. We use
straight cable with hub and cross cable at connecting
machines directly. Well, you can check the state of
network by using tcpdump.

Because automake_1.4-8.deb that you saw in the directory was
symlink in other directory. Such as,

Buffer cache

2001-01-20 Thread Susumu Takuwa
I have question about Buffer cache and command `free'.

On my debian 2.2 with linux kernel 2.2.17, i get the
memory information using command `free'.

$ free
total used free sharedbuffers cached
Mem: 46076 45024 1052 6836 4944 18740
-/+ buffers/cache: 21340 24736
Swap:98748 3952 94796

Well, i understand Buffer cache existing between Block
device and Filesystem(ex:ext2 filesystem).

-
Filesystem
-
Buffer cache
-
Block device
-

And, i understand following:

[1]The sum of `buffers' and `cache' under command `free'
 is the amount of Buffer cache area.
[2]In Buffer cache area, `buffers' is no data cached
 space and `cache' is the data cached space.

My understanding is correct?

I recommend bunk's packages. I installed his packages to my
potato box and have had no problem. You can install 2.4
kernel by reading his docs.

Do you want to create another partition as sda1 and make
sda1 shift to sda2 ?

FYI, Vine Linux that is Japanese RHL variant distro
have installed apt in current version 2.1.5.

Hmm, their English page have not been modified for long time.

In that case,

$ apt-get update
$ apt-cache search --names-only kernel-image-2.2
kernel-image-2.2.17 - Linux kernel binary image for version 2.2.17.
kernel-image-2.2.19 - Linux kernel binary image for version 2.2.19.
kernel-image-2.2.17-compact - Linux kernel binary image.
(snip)

You can find out kernel-2.2.19 packages when you search them
by apt-cache. You can install/upgrade kernel like this,

$ apt-get install kernel-image-2.2.19

GRUB boot loader support booting Windows on not /dev/hda.
When you setup GRUB on your Linux or create GRUB boot floppy,
you can boot Windows by using `map' command. ie) When you
execute following,

map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)

you exchange /dev/hda and /dev/hdb virtually.

When we discussed the same article, Romain Lerallut insisted
that LILO also supported that feature.
