Package: aethera
Version: 0.9.3-7
Severity: normal

When setting up a new account Aethera offers the user the chance to
configure their display name. It defaults this to the contents of the
GECOS field in /etc/passwd but if this contains comma delimited
subfields (as are commonly used for storing information such as phone
numbers and room numbers) it includes these in the default screen name.
The program should handle this more gracefully, removing the extra
information.

Package: aethera
Version: 0.9.3-7
Severity: normal

When the user opts not to save passwords in their configuration aethera
actually refuses to remember the password at all. This means that
simple actions such as changing from one IMAP folder to another result
in the user being prompted to enter their password again. It would be
desirable for the program to instead cache the password for the duration
of a session, forgetting it when exited.

Severity: normal

I reproduced the same crash reported by Iran in bug #117300. The
Debian bug system did not allow me to post to #117300, presumably
because it has been closed for a long time.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. "sudo apt-get remove kdelibs3-crypto"

2. Logout and log back in.

3. "sudo apt-get install kdebase-crypto"

4. Launch Konqueror.

5. Select Crypto Settings and enter "/usr/lib/" for the "path to your
OpenSSL shared libraries".

6. Select "test"

7. The settings dialog crashes, the backtrace indicating the crash
occurred inside method "KCryptoConfig::slotTestOSSL".

WORKAROUND:

Repeat steps 2, 4-6 above. This time, success.

Hope that helps,

Aj

This source package Build-Depends on libxaw-dev, which is wrong because it's
a pure virtual package. You need to specify a specific version of
libxaw-dev to be used (either libxaw6-dev or, preferably, libxaw7-dev).

(This is an automatically generated bug report based on an initial
template and on the contents of the Sources file for the main section.)

The playability of the keyboard would be improved if leaving a key pressed =

proposed FLTK migration to Xft2 (#189467)

2003-04-26 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Hi.

As reported in #189467, FLTK's use of Xft1 prevents libfltk1.1-dev
from working on the increasing fraction of systems with libxft2-dev
installed. One obvious workaround would be to disable FLTK's Xft
support altogether, but it is actually also possible to persuade it to
use Xft2 instead; I have prepared an NMU (with Stefan's permission)
that does the latter, and uploaded it (as source and i386 binaries) to
 for the time being.

Since fltk-config --ldflags (properly) lists dependencies, including
Xft (1), but it is almost certainly bad for programs to pull in both
libXft.so.1 and libXft.so.2, my new libfltk1.1c102 package conflicts
with existing dependent packages --- hence this mail. If you upload a
new version of a dependent package built against the existing
Xft1-based FLTK packages, please let me know so I can update the
conflicts accordingly.

Once I've uploaded the Xft2-based packages (probably in a few days, to
allow time for responses), please either change your FLTK
build-dependency to (>= 1.1.3-2.1) and upload rebuilt packages
promptly or grant me permission to NMU them (with only that change).

Finally, please let me know ASAP if there is some reason (such as
independent Xft1 usage) that going to Xft2 would be a problem for your
package; again, if I don't hear any objections in the next few days,
I'll go ahead with the Xft2-based packages.

Thanks.

I have a "normal" Woody i386 installation. Nothing installed that's not
available in the stable woody release and i normally dont have any problem
with the system.

Gravitywars was installed with dselect and it depends on svgalib so that was
installed as well (and might actually cause the problem)
When I try to start gravitywars from an ordinary shell I get the error
messageyou must be the owner of the current console to run svgalib.SVGALib
is installed and seems says "Using SIS driver" which is correct.

When I try to run gravitywars as root the computer crashs completely (black
screen you cant do anything anymore)
i am using kernel 2.4.18-bf24

Package: kvdr
Version: 0.51.1-1

Hi!
the current kvdr version included in unstable doesn't run with kde3.

It is compiled for kde 2.2.2 which is obsolete. I've just build a new package,
i don't know whether it is concurring with the specifications but it can be
installed with the newest packages of qt3 without problems.

I don't know whether it runs with the vdr package included in sid, because
i've build my vdr from source.

I suggest, that the kvdr package should be replaced with a newer version or
removed. if you don't like my package, you can surely take another one.

Here's the link to my kvdr: http://www.gfs.diepholz.de/~florian/debian/

I am using Debian GNU/Linux Sid (3.2?), kernel 2.4.20-xfs
and libc6 2.3.1-15.

kvdr fails to build from source on i386, when doing a binary-all build.

I am filing this bug to notify you that I failed to build your
package from source in the current sid distribution.
It is a serious problem that your source does not
build from source using the information provided in your control files,
and such a package should not be distributed in a stable Debian distribution.

This build was done using pbuilder package.
