Nothing installed that's not available in the stable woody release and i normally dont have any problem with the system. Gravitywars was installed with dselect and it depends on svgalib so that was installed as well (and might actually cause the problem) When I try to start gravitywars from an ordinary shell I get the error messageyou must be the owner of the current console to run svgalib.SVGALib is installed and seems says "Using SIS driver" which is correct. When I try to run gravitywars as root the computer crashs completely (black screen you cant do anything anymore) i am using kernel 2.4.18-bf24 --------------------------------------- Received: (at 159003-close) by bugs.debian.org; 26 Apr 2003 17:23:10 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Apr 26 12:23:09 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from auric.debian.org [206.246.226.45] (mail) by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 199TOH-00034x-00; Sat, 26 Apr 2003 12:23:09 -0500 Received: from katie by auric.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 199TIS-00053r-00; Sat, 26 Apr 2003 13:17:08 -0400 From: Samuel Hocevar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.33 $ Subject: Bug#159003: fixed in gravitywars 1.102-24 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sat, 26 Apr 2003 13:17:08 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of gravitywars, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: gravitywars_1.102-24.diff.gz to pool/main/g/gravitywars/gravitywars_1.102-24.diff.gz gravitywars_1.102-24.dsc to pool/main/g/gravitywars/gravitywars_1.102-24.dsc gravitywars_1.102-24_i386.deb to pool/main/g/gravitywars/gravitywars_1.102-24_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Package is now Arch: any, and binary is no longer setuid root. * Moved architecture-independant data from /usr/lib to /usr/share. * We use dpkg-statoverride instead of shipping a setgid binary. * Added switch to fullscreen using the 'f' key. * Added a "keys" section to the manpage. * Drew an icon for gravitywars.
