Debian Sarge y Debian Multimedia
Hello. I have a PowerMac G3 450Mhz, have installed Debian Sarge, i need one repository with the Debian Multimedia packages, i try with various but in the moment to use debmirror dont download any package, i dont use bad debmirror because i make ready two repository, sarge-backports and unofficial. I search in google various mirrors, the mirrors contains the directory /dists/sarge or /dists/oldstable, but the packages dont download, i need a mirror with these packages. Thanks... I'm afraid I don't really understand the problem. If the radeon driver detects 64 MB and there's no visual corruption, then your card most certainly has 64 MB. My video card have only 32MB, GNU/Linux detects another video card type, ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R100 QD [Radeon 7200], this card have 64MB, my video card is only ATI Radeon Mac Edition, and when I see in Kcontrol the video card memory is 128MB. 2008/8/19 Michel Dänzer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > On Tue, 2008-08-19 at 09:14 -0700, Peter Rooney wrote: > > > > (1) Immediate Solution: > > Edit your xorg.conf file manually. Live-CD Debian Based Distro
Encontré esta distro para la gente que desee un LiveCD para PowerPC, un día de estos ví la pregunta y también me surgió la duda, entre a penguinppc.orgy ahí estaba la respuesta, donde siempre. Finnix, the LiveCD for system administrators Finnix is a self-contained, bootable Linux CD distribution ("LiveCD") for system administrators, based on Debian testing. You can mount and manipulate hard drives and partitions, monitor networks, rebuild boot records, install other operating systems, and much more. Finnix includes the latest technology for system administrators, with Linux kernel 2.6, LVM2, encrypted partitions, etc. And above all, Finnix is small; currently the entire distribution is over 300MiB, but is dynamically compressed into a bootable image of about 100MiB1 <http://www.finnix.org/#endnote_isosizes>. Finnix is not intended for the average desktop user, and does not include any desktops, productivity tools, or sound support, in order to keep distribution size low. Finnix is freely distributable under the terms of the GNU General Public License <http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html>. For more information, please see Legal <http://www.finnix.org/Legal>. System requirements Finnix has the following system requirements: - CPU: - x86: 586 or higher x86 CPU (will work on AMD64/EM64T CPUs in 32-bit mode) - AMD64/EMT64 in 64-bit mode with the "finnix64" boot profile - PowerPC: G5, G4, or NewWorld G3, including iMacs, Power Macs, Powerbooks, and the Mac Mini - Intel Macs <http://www.finnix.org/Intel_Macs> are supported via the x86 CD. - 32MiB RAM absolute minimum; 128MiB recommended - Standard ATAPI or SATA CDROM drive - Linux swap partition recommended, but not required - Network card recommended, but not required - 192MiB RAM is required to run Finnix completely within RAM; 256MiB recommended -- http://nuevaeracr.blogspot.com Linux user number 478378 Linux machine number 386687 Tec. Wifi configuration Debian Lenny Ibook G3
Hello I try connect to WiFi network in my work. Have WPA Personal Security with TKIP encryption. I try use wpa_supplicant, wpagui, network manager and wifi radar but I cant connect. My machine is a Ibook G3 800MHz with Airport Card. I dont like network manager because I use Enlightenment, I like more wifi-radar, but: How configure wpa personal security with tkip in wifi radar? How configure my network card in /etc/network/interfaces? How configure wpa supplicant? Re: Wifi configuration Debian Lenny Ibook G3
I don't understand how you can ask for help on how to use complicated tools just because you don't like the easier one I believe that network management is only integrated to Gnome and XFCE and knetwork management must be installed for use in KDE, I think it is used as an applet for the desktop, while the use E16 is more limited. That would be GNU / Linux if we are left with only a single way of doing things, the variety is success. I am also very curious and I like seeing things under the table! ;-) In my experience, you'll need to force TKIP operation to prevent initial usage of CCMP, which is not currently supported. I am the network administrator, what type of security is better to works with Debian GNU/Linux? Could change it WPE, WPA Personal AES or another. Thanks for your answers, sorry for my bad english, I cant find active listings in Spanish for Debian PowerPC. In my blog I try to translate and documenting all about this port and my experience. Temas de enlightenment 0.16
I noticed a lot of functionality now removed freshmeat.net changed their appearance. Among the things that I regret the items were removed for enlightenment 0.16. Luckily I have backed up all the issues that had freshmeat.net until mid 2008, I backed into a CD, I want to know if anyone can help me to upload them to a hosting so you can continue using these beautiful themes. I could pay a cheap hosting, but not as work well ... I was using NO-IP to ride a personal but I need something more professional or stable, I do not think we use much bandwidth, but if you have stability. I prefer a hosting fee and not make my own. Sorry for my bad english. Next you can use WiCD for networking administration: http://nuevaeracr.blogspot.com/2009/04/redes-inalambricas-con-debian-gnulinux.html Also can use add the backports and install wicd. -- http://nuevaeracr.blogspot.com Linux user number 478378 Linux machine number 386687 Tec. Trouble? Contact > listmas...@lists.debian.org > > An USB airport adapter? Do you mean wifi adapter? Sorry, its a wifi usb adapter... the disadvantage that it occupies a USB and little aesthetic, but functional, check the realtek wifi chipset and buy the correct for GNU/Linux The chipset are: RT8187B and RTL8187L (the last works great I have one, and works with Mac OSX 10.3, also for not install a big OSX). Can check more information in www.realtek.com.tw This is the list of drivers and chipsets: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=1&Level=6&Conn=5&ProdID=36&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true Sorry for my bad english... -- http://nuevaeracr.blogspot.com Linux user number 478378 Linux machine number 386687 Tec. Re: iBook G3 - Debian Lenny and one projector
Hello people... I resolve the two problems, the graphic acceleration and the problem with the proyector. The proyector was difficult but was a hardware problem... I change the cable for a Apple manufactured and tadaaa works!!! The acceleration was a procedure problem... I haved installed the kernel 2.6.29-2... but the graphics acceleration dont works more.I followed the following instructions: Vamos a instalar el kernel que si lo hace. Instalamos el kernel: apt-get update apt-get install linux-image-2.6.29-2-powerpc The kernel works good and love Tuz http://nuevaeracr.blogspot.com/2009/04/nuevo-kernel-2629-disponible-para.html I translated the english instrucctions to spanish... sorry =$ But the acceleration dont works, today followed this guide: The Xorg packages in Debian unstable can be used with the binary snapshots. # cat >> /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable main ^D # apt-get update # apt-get -t unstable install xserver-xorg You'll need the linux-headers package for your kernel installed in order to compile the kernel modules: # apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r` Then just follow the instructions for installing the snapshots as above. http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/Download I think the mistake is no install the new linux headers for the kernel 2.6.29-2... but now all is right. Thanks for you help... and I hope this solution works for other person. http://nuevaeracr.blogspot.com Linux user number 478378 Linux machine number 386687 Tec.
