Maybe change 'from around the world' to 'from all over the world'? (Non-native Englsh speaker here, though) Some technical notes: The file size can be reduced from 8.9M to 5.0M by using the 'Vacuum Defs' function from Inkscape's File menu :) Removing the hp logo (and vacooming again) reduces the file size further to 839K. I Can't find an easy way to clean up that logo, it seems to be using a great amount of SVG objects. Having the body text converted to curves makes it non-editable. Is there a reason for this? The font seems rather standard to me. I assume you want curves for giving that to magazine/printer, but I think this should be done to a copy of the work doecument. PDF export in Inkskape can convert text to curves too (and I'd be very surprised if the printer prefers SVG over PDF). And finally, why isn't this in debconf-data SVN? :) Keep up the excellent work! signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

Hi, So, Leandro i guess you have some editing to do :D Just post your end result here, and i'll put it in svn after that :) The reason i didn't do it before, is (with h01ger's suggestion) that i wanted to see if there's any fixing needed. "Boston, Massachusets, USA" is "city, state, country", going upwards in scale; "Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Srpska" would imply a claim that B&H is a subcomponent of RoS. Put them in the order "BL, RoS, B&H"; and then the part I was suggesting is that you should put the last bit in parentheses so that it's easy to tell that it's not one single entity called the Republic of X Y and Z. -- JBR with qualifications in linguistics, experience as a Debian sysadmin, and probably no clue about this particular package ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

Yes, "Republic of Srpska" is weird, imho. Yes, even if the local government uses it in English translations of its official documents. If I'm correct (but I may be wrong), "srpska" is an adjective in the original language, so the word-to-word translation would be "Serb Republic". Mostsources in the English-speaking countries seem to prefer using "Republika Srpska" so, given the target of the ad, I'd suggest using "Republika Srpska". signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

This is the "People's Front of Judea" (not to be confused with Judean People's Front). There has never been any mention of "Liberation" whatsoever. WTH are you thinking about? As punishment, you'll handcopy Book of Armaments, Chapter 2, verses 9-21. Alternatively, you can also paint "Romani ite domum" on whatever monument you can find. signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

[Debconf-team] Photos from Banja Luka
I've uploaded photos by Holger and me from our trip to Banja Luka (plus some from Zagreb airport): https://gallery.debconf.org/v/debconf11/trailer/ They include photos from the venue, the proposed dinner venue (aqua park), and the proposed day trip venue (canyon). They're not labelled, but feel free to ask me on IRC if you can't work out what's what. -- Moray ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

That reminded me something: what type of power sockets are in use in Banja Luka and RoS? From Wikipedia, these seem to be C and F sockets, for 220V/50Hz. Unsurprising, then, for most europeans and therefore identical to Spain, if we go back in time for DebConfs. ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
