I also strongly suspect that a cafeteria, in a place like Columbia University, in a country like USA where allergies to food are a known and understood fact.is definitely able to tell which dishes have this or that ingredient that's unsuitable for people who are allergic to some specific item. The cafeteria folks told us that if anyone had a special allergy that was not already covered by vegetarian/vegan/celiac/kosher/hallal that one would simply need to speak to them and they could make something specific for your needs. They did explicitly say that you actually need to have a serious issue for them to entertain this, as they would not appreciate people asking them to make some special food just because you do not like what is provided. micah pgpqcSTAjClld.pgp Description: PGP signature ___ Debconf-discuss mailing list Debconf-discuss@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss

My concern was that if breakfast would normally be provided but require first visiting the front desk to sign in and obtain credentials, I might not have time to do so on the morning of August 1 (Debconf Day 1) and still make it to the first talk. I tried to switch to train 1 (red circle with white 1) at 34st Penn, but wasn't able to find the transfer gates. Only option seemed to leave Penn towards 7st Ave. I'm not sure if this would mean paying twice. However, I didn't leave Penn but got back to train A and moved two stations further to the north. At 59st Columbia Circle, switching to train 1 was feasable without exiting to the street. Perhaps one of the locals could clarify the instructions on the wiki, so that others arriving via JFK either find the right transfer gates or also change at 59st. I made it today to New York, bringing ~1.25l of fine mezcal (at ~50 degree alcohol) and a (very small, close to 130g) portion of very VERY aged Mexican cheese (20 year old, plus smaller portions to be handed exclusively to The Cheesemaster himself). I was stopped for drugs screening at Houston (well, being a Mexican entering the USA from Argentina, no surprise!). The customs agents asked me specifically to take out that small jar of something with a squishy texture. They saw I was importing non-industrialized alcohol, and smelled the cheese. They promptly decided I was no longer required to expel foul smells to their work environment and sent me to New York. So, in short, please bring along the cheese+wine! ___ Debconf-discuss mailing list Debconf-discuss@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss
