This card?

Software would likely be custom for the card. DEC did have an
implementation of GKS for VMS and had the ability for users to write
their own GKS drivers for custom hardware, which would give you a portable
API that could use the hardware if such a driver were available.

This card's resolution is comparable to a mid 80s Tektronix raster
terminal, such as the Tek 4207 or Tek 4205. The terminals have a much
more sophisticated command set than this card, however.

While I don't have a specific replacement list for those terms, this
is exactly the sort of thing for which "caps wiki" was created:

At the least you should contribute what you learn to that wiki if you
have to figure it out yourself.

Yeah, I was thinking that cross-linking to caps wiki from terminals

A unit that has been cared for over the years by a single owner and
contains all the associated ephemera (manuals, cords, cases, etc.) in
good condition is certainly the sort of thing that commands a price at
the high end of the range.

It's not like we're talking about a barn find covered in pidgeon poop.

I used to love reading EE Times when it was a weekly tabloid style
print edition. Ever since they moved to a web site only format, it's
been a serious downgrade of the experience. Even with accounting for
the format change, it's now virtually imposible to find "what's new"
since the last time I was there. The organization of the articles on
the web site is vastly inferior to the organization of the articles in
the print edition. The sad part is that there's no reason for the
degraded experience just because they moved to a digital edition.

My understanding is that it was a strict superset of 6800 with some unused
opcodes implemented fo faster math instructions.

Give IDA Pro or Ghidra a crack at it to help you make sense of the raw
disassembly.

I made pretty good progress on VT100 ROMs before Paul Williams put up
a completely reverse engineered commented listing.

2024-05-30 Thread Richard via cctalk
Hi There,

I have a cable attached to my Sun 386i. I used to have spares but sadly no more.

I don’t believe there is anything special in the cable.

If I have an opportunity I can buzz through and let you know what each pin is
in the cable.

Give me a week or two and if I haven’t reverted please do reach out

All things vintage computer-y, especially early personal computer or
microcomputer stuff, has become very much sought after.

Who'da thunk that 286s would be sought after some day.
