Gotcha. I have a pretty large set of III docs if you need anything. I was
planning to put online, it's all scanned, etc. just have not gotten to it
yet :-(

Generally, a ProFile driver that is otherwise unspecified will be 5MB (i.e.
https://apple3.org/iiisoftware.html#drivers ). There is a different card
(ROM?) as you found out that will matter for 5 vs. 10MB variants and driver
files.

Good luck keeping that jet engine spooled up!

[cctalk] Matrox Q bus graphics card, any use

2023-02-16 Thread Chris Zach via cctalk
Going through my stuff I found a Matrox QRGB 6/64-4 card which seems to
be a 512x512x16 color video array for Q bus systems.

Did any software ever support this thing, and does anyone want to trade
it for a bean of some sort?

Thanks!
Chris

I think that drivers should exist for RSX-11M+. I’m unaware of anything
available online. I should have a RSX-11M pack with graphics drivers, but for
a different card, not Matrox.

This card?

Software would likely be custom for the card. DEC did have an
implementation of GKS for VMS and had the ability for users to write
their own GKS drivers for custom hardware, which would give you a portable
API that could use the hardware if such a driver were available.

This card's resolution is comparable to a mid 80s Tektronix raster
terminal, such as the Tek 4207 or Tek 4205. The terminals have a much
more sophisticated command set than this card, however.
