[AFMUG] weed killer

[chuck]

I like to totally sterilize the ground around my comm sites.  But for some 
reason the stuff I am using did not work this year.  I am sure it is the same 
stuff I have been using but zip-nada-nothing happening this year.  I think I 
have used Pramitol 5PS.

We used to use diesel fuel on the farm as a kid.   Worked awesome, but as Adam 
mentioned, the EPA frowns on that.   It was also a great hornet/wasp killer.  
On another related note, used motor oil works great to keep the sand from 
eroding off of the hills in the yard on the farm.   Apparently we can’t do that 
either anymore…. 😊

I remember my dad using Tordon on morning glory in dry land wheat and seeing 
large areas in the field where runoff washed it down a gully.  There was 
nothing there.  I may give it a try again.

Isn't this like the 3rd time VZ has announced a 4G LTE based home Internet
service?  The first one used a cantenna.  The second one used an indoor LTE
router, which apparently this does also, so I'm not clear on the difference.
I also ignore any statement about "unlimited data" from a mobile company
until we see the fine print.

 

Article says the answer to "why now" is "Covid and people working from
home".  Sure.  Or maybe the answer is "T-Mobile Home Internet".

There are some minority shareholders suing them for what is rightfully theirs 
too.  

So she may end up with less than she has right now.

OK, I had to go back in my Deleted folder, I didn’t see the first post.  Yeah, 
that was pretty tasteless also.  Not saying the syrup is literally tasteless.  
I actually buy that brand of syrup.  I usually wait for some vain tigers to 
chase each other around a tree and turn into butter.

 

When I was a kid we bought Log Cabin brand syrup and I think back then it 
actually had something like 10% maple syrup in it.  Now you have to make a 
withdrawal from the Canadian strategic maple syrup reserve.  Or as Americans, 
happily use thickened high fructose corn syrup with brown coloring, in a bottle 
with a mammy on the label.

 

Meanwhile, if you want something tasteless, the Internet was just trying to get 
me to buy a sticker with a photo of Pam Grier wearing an Indian headdress and 
not much else.  That is tasteless on multiple levels.

Supposedly the T-Mobile service is actually unlimited data.  But still the 
mobile guys have so many ways to limit your unlimited data.  I have lost 2 
customers to the T-Mobile service and they say they are happy with it.  In one 
case it was bundled with their TV service T-Vision or something like that.  I 
don't think it's available everywhere.

It does confirm what I've always claimed, the mobile carriers didn't need 5G to 
do rural fixed wireless, they could always have done it off their 4G towers, 
and in fact I don't think we'll ever see mmWave 5G in truly rural areas, it 
makes no sense because you'd have to run fiber almost to the customers, at that 
point why not just do FTTH.  But the obstacle wasn't technical, it was because 
there was no competitive threat to make them do it.  In the past though Verizon 
and AT&T have introduced fixed wireless and then lost interest.  Will this time 
be different?

OK, I had to go back in my Deleted folder, I didn’t see the first post.  Yeah, 
that was pretty tasteless also.  Not saying the syrup is literally tasteless.  
I actually buy that brand of syrup.  I usually wait for some vain tigers to 
chase each other around a tree and turn into butter.

 

When I was a kid we bought Log Cabin brand syrup and I think back then it 
actually had something like 10% maple syrup in it.  Now you have to make a 
withdrawal from the Canadian strategic maple syrup reserve.  Or as Americans, 
happily use thickened high fructose corn syrup with brown coloring, in a bottle 
with a mammy on the label.

 

Meanwhile, if you want something tasteless, the Internet was just trying to get 
me to buy a sticker with a photo of Pam Grier wearing an Indian headdress and

month.

 

It does seem like business mobile accounts don’t have data caps.  Maybe they

I hope the university that compiles an annual list of banished words includes 
“trigger warning”, “safe space”, “cancel culture”, and a bunch more that I 
never actually hear normal people say.  Let’s just get rid of all those terms 
that end in “culture” or “lifestyle”.  And maybe we could retire “Karen” and 
“my freedoms”.  And there are some pandemic related terms I’d like to never 
hear again.  Like social distancing and face covering.  Isn’t social distancing 
like jumbo shrimp?  Can’t we just call them physical distancing and masks?  Oh, 
and novel coronavirus.  Just call it the coronavirus, unless you’re writing a

about people shutting down things they don't like then that behavior 
exists everywhere, and I'm not sure why some groups think they're 
justified in using it as an attack against another group.  There's 
literally no society or section of society where some behavior or other 
won't get you "canceled".  Don't believe me?  Go to a Three Percenters 
meeting and tell them the NFA is compatible with the constitution, and 
then observe as you are canceled by the cancel culture.


I get the idea of not triggering someone's PTSD.which is what 
"trigger warning" was originally about.  A "safe space" was supposed to 
be a place where you won't be harassed for being black or gay (etc).  I 
first heard both terms in media that was ridiculing the weakness of 
people who needed such things.  Whether it's really a weakness to not 
want to set off a person with mental problems or to want to be safe 
isn't as important as the fact that the terms no longer mean anything 
except to insult a perceived weakness in someone else.


A militia meeting is a "safe space" for Three Percenters and Boogaloos 
to fully express their views about the elitist pedophile cabal 
discretely implementing communism in the USA.  What a bunch of weak-ass 
babies for feeling safe in their safe space while not feeling safe to 
express those ideas in the general public who would absolutely "cancel" 
them for being a bunch of weirdos.  I'm a believer in the importance of 
the second amendment and I'm a gun owner (and it's one of those evil 
semi automatic rifles with a box magazine and a black composite stock), 
and I would be all about joining a militia whose purpose was to defend 
the country and respond to natural disasters with no weird, political 
conspiracy BS baked in.  Too bad there isn't one.

spectrum repulsive and frightening.  They're silent for the same reason

critical and solid running a special program.  I liked XP and learned to

If you don’t have a PAL, you are GAA, anywhere in the 150 MHz.  The only 
difference is that the upper 50 MHz is GAA only.  If you request a frequency in 
3650-3700 you would never get denied to protect a PAL operator.  But there 
could be umpteen other GAA operators using that frequency, so I don’t think the 
SAS needs to consider things like frequency reuse because they just 
automatically approve the grant unless it would impact a PAL protection area or

channels though.  But again, there could be umpteen WISPs all trying to use

accommodate everyone on separate frequencies, I don’t see how they would 
communicate this to the operators, since they either approve or deny grant 
requests, they don’t suggest gee why don’t you use this other frequency 
instead, it’s open.  You have to do your own SA to determine that.  And repeat 
regularly.  Even if there was a mechanism in the protocols to request auto 
frequency assignment from the SAS, there’s more than one SAS.

 

It’s a very complex system that doesn’t do much if everyone is GAA.  Other than 
give us some more spectrum, and do away with LBT (which sucked).

If you’re GAA, I don’t think they care how you reuse or duplicate frequencies 
between your own sectors or with adjacent GAA users.  I think you’re giving the 
SAS too much credit for policing or coordinating frequency assignments among 
GAA users.  As long as you’re not stepping on an incumbent or a PAL protection 
area, I think they’ll give you a grant for whatever frequency you want.

 

PAL holders will probably need to work this out though.
