Re: Query for getting all campaign with the given name - Google Ads

2021-11-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Wayne,

Glad that it worked on your end.

You can indeed use a get request to retrieve all the details of a Campaign
resource. However, get requests are more costly in terms of usage as discussed
here. The alternative would be to use search requests instead, which you can
find out more via this guide and here as well.

Re: Once Demographic Criterion is set it cannot be changed

2021-11-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Filip,

This is Yasar and I work with Aryeh. Let me assist you with this.

Kindly note that the negative field in AdGroupCriterion is immutable. That
said, re-including said age range by simply removing line 'negative' => true
from your code won’t work and you will get the "Immutable field" message since
the 'negative' field is immutable.

To avoid this error, I recommend you to remove the existing AdGroupCriterion
first, then re-add it by setting 'negative' => false in your code.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Re: Once Demographic Criterion is set it cannot be changed

2021-11-03 Thread Filip Pećanac
Hi Yasar,

Thanks for the assistance.

So once I create an AdGroup via API all Demographic criterions are selected
by default.

What would be your suggestions (or an example if you could provide) in
order to:

1. Exclude certain Criterion via API?
2. Re-include that Criterion via API?

Whenever I try to accomplish the second step, I get the "immutable filed"
message.

Sorry to bother you, but I am new in this, so it might take me a while to
get it done properly :)

Regards,
Filip

Re: Add Location Campaign Extension Setting to campaing level

2021-11-03 Thread Vedran Presečki
Hi Matt,

thank you for the answer.
Add an Extension Setting guide does not have one example of Location
extension. However I did follow it and instead of Sitelinks like in the
example I tried to create Location extension.
With the same exact services and approach as in the guide provided we are
recieving "CONCRETE_EXTENSION_TYPE_REQUIRED" error.
This happens by just trying to create Extension Feed Item, we can't even
get to the point of linking him with the campaing itself.
Again, this happens with Location type.

Vedran

A question about the rounding method used in AdWords API for bids and their modifiers

2021-11-03 Thread Mikalai Kuzmitski
Hello, I need fully understand the process of calculating the final
maximum CPC bid by setting the basic CPC bid ("microAmount") and device
modifiers ("bidModifier") through the AdWords API.
Could you clarify:
1) what kind of rounding method do you use?
2) whether the rounding is applied to the basic CPC bid and modifiers
separately, or is only the final CPC bid being rounded, so:
final CPC bid = rounded(basic CPC bid * modifier) or final CPC bid =
rounded(rounded(basic CPC bid) * rounded(modifier))
3) Could you, please, use the examples below explain what the basic CPC
bid, modifiers and final CPC bid will be applied and received through the
corresponding Ad reports, if I try:
 - basic CPC bid = 2.985, modifier = 0.875,
will be used: basic CPC bid = ? modifier= ? final CPC bid = ?
- basic CPC bid = 2.98556, modifier = 0.87556,
will be used: basic CPC bid = ? modifier= ? final CPC bid = ?
- basic CPC bid = 2.98501, modifier = 0.87501,
will be used: basic CPC bid = ? modifier= ? final CPC bid = ?

Best regards, Mikalai

Fields that were supported in Adwords API are not in Ads API

2021-11-03 Thread ATripathi
Hello,
In Adwords API this query was supported
" SELECT CampaignName, Conversions, ConversionValue, AllConversions,
AllConversionValue, Interactions, InteractionRate, VideoViews,
VideoViewRate, AverageCpv, DevicePreference, Engagements,
CrossDeviceConversions FROM PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT WHERE
AdNetworkType2 IN [SEARCH,YOUTUBE_SEARCH,YOUTUBE_WATCH] AND Impressions>0
AND Device IN [HIGH_END_MOBILE] AND IsSelfAction = TRUE AND Status =
ENABLED AND PlaceholderType =1 DURING LAST_MONTH "

But in Google Ads API, majority for the fields from above query are not
compatible with each other like
interaction , interaction rate not compatible placeholder type
all conversion, all conversion value not compatible with isselfaction
videoviews, video view rate, engagement, average cpv not compatible with
device

Since Adword will sunset so we are migrating to Google Ads ,so
How to get these data of these fields for particular place holder type

There are other report as well which have some metrics supported in Adword
but not supported in Ads API like top impression in a Account Performance
Report is not supported in customer table in Ads API

Service account authentication issues

2021-11-03 Thread Jakob Erdmann
Hello,

we're in the process of integrating Google Ads API into our backend
services to manage some conversion related settings.
Since this is an automated integration and doesn't require user interaction
authentication should happen via service user.

Now documentation suggests that in order to use a service user for the
Google Ads API we need to enable domain-wide delegation for that user which
means that it can impersonate any actual user and get their permission
level on related google ads accounts. Since also lower level developers
have to work with the system and we don't want to give them admin access to
our google ads account this is not an option, as all they would need is any
admins email address which is easily guessable.

Is there a way to directly link a service account to an Google Ads account
and manage permissions directly for that service account?

Thanks,
Jakob

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

You may use the user_list report in order to fetch a list of all the customer's
current userLists. You may use the search method in the REST interface to get
the user_list report. You may refer to this guide for a search method example
using REST. Also, you can make use of Query Builder and Query Validator to help
you construct and validate queries.

Excluding Placement using Google Ads API

CampaignError.CANNOT_SET_SELECTIVE_OPTIMIZATION_DURING_OR_POST_UNIFIED_GOAL_MIGRATION

2021-11-03 Thread Matteo Medda
Hello,
we get this error when we create campaigns with TARGET_CPA.

Error message:
 "operations [1] .operand.selectiveOptimization.conversionTypeIds =>
CampaignError.CANNOT_SET_SELECTIVE_OPTIMIZATION_DURING_OR_POST_UNIFIED_GOAL_MIGRATION"

The error occurs when we go to setSelectiveOptimization on the campaign
with the ConversionIds. If we don't specify conversionIds then the creation
is successful.
The error occurs on all of our accounts. We use GoogleAdwords.

Until a few days ago everything was ok and we didn't make any changes.

Hi Marvin,

Thanks for reaching out. The labels attribute you mentioned returns the
resource name of the label attached to the entity. The resource name contains
the label ID, in the form: customers/{customer_id}/labels/{label_id}

You can read more about Ads API reporting with labels here.

Re: Create campaign error

2021-11-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello,

I wanted to give an update. As of today, there is now a way to set conversion
goals for a campaign. We just released v9 of the Google Ads API
(https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/2021/11/announcing-v9-of-google-ads-api.html).
In the release, there is a concept called Conversion Goals
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/conversions/goals/overview)
where you can set custom goals for your campaign. You would need to upgrade to
this version to use the feature.

Best,

Re: Once Demographic Criterion is set it cannot be changed

2021-11-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Filip,

Thank you for your follow up, our team would be happy to help. You may refer to
my responses below :

1. Exclude certain Criterion via API?

You can CREATE the AdGroupCriterion with the negative=true, if you wish to
initially exclude a specific criterion.

2. Re-include that Criterion via API?

If by re-include what you meant is to target the initially excluded the
criterion, you will first need to perform a REMOVE operation for the excluded
criterion. You can then CREATE that criterion again, with the same details, but
now with negative=false.

Best regards,

RE: Is mutate operation counted as get operation?

2021-11-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello Jing,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As per this guide, both Mutate and Get operations have different limitations.
As for the Standard API access, this allows the developer token to execute an
unlimited number of operations for most services. Such tokens are however still
subject to global limits, including the daily limit of 1,000 get operations.
You can also check on this guide for more details.

Since you wish to implement locations extensions, you can refer to this guide

RE: 自动回复: Can my developer token be used to access other manageraccounts?

2021-11-03 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As for your question (Can my developer token be used to access other manager
accounts?), please note that the developer token only allows your app to
connect to the Google Ads API and this doesn't involve any account related
access.

Access is determined by the OAuth2 credentials. To elaborate, if the user /
email address used to generate the credentials has access to the top most MCC,
then it can access all sub accounts using those credentials. If the user /email
address only has access to a specific client account, then that credential can
only be used to authenticate API requests to only that client account. In
addition, you can manage access via this guide.
