Can't find the campaign I created.

2020-08-05 Thread YuK1
I have created an MCC Test account and two child accounts.
We created a video campaign for each of those two accounts.

MCC Test Account ... ID: 000--000
Campaign Account 1 ... ID: 111--111
Movie Campaign
Campaign Account 2 ... ID: 222--222
Movie Campaign

I issued the following query and
I tried to get a campaign for a child account in PHP.

$query = 'SELECT campaign.id FROM campaign';

$response = $client->search(00, $query);

foreach ($response->iterateAllElements() as $googleAdsRow) {
/** @var GoogleAdsRow $googleAdsRow */
printf(
"Ad group with ID %d and name '%s' was found in campaign with ID
%d.%s",
$googleAdsRow->getAdGroup()->getId()->getValue(),
$googleAdsRow->getAdGroup()->getName()->getValue(),
$googleAdsRow->getCampaign()->getId()->getValue(),
PHP_EOL
);
}

But nothing appears.

Is there a special way to get a campaign for a child account?

Thanks.

Re: How to retrieve ads Labels

2020-08-05 Thread beyond Clicks
Hi Xiaoming,

I've looked around for how to "create labels using the TextLabel

object. To create a TextLabel" as
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/reporting/labels this
guide tells me and I can find no examples of its use or how it is written
at all, the examples on the same page make no use of it which has left me
completley baffled as to how it is practically used. The guide acts as if
you already have the ID, but knowing you might need to make one gives NO
example of actually making one at all, just references to disconnected
objects and operations with no context at all.

Can I use Google Ads Test account for creating a Customer match user list and upload UserData to the list for targeting using new Ads API?

2020-08-05 Thread Davinder singh gosain
I am working on a service that will create a Customer match UserList for
audience targeting and also upload few thousands UserData to the list. I
wrote the code with new Ads API (Beta), but when I am running it it's
giving errors. While searching for those errors seems this feature is not
free (not accessible in test account). FYI I do not have production account.

Code Ref:
https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-java/blob/master/google-ads-examples/src/main/java/com/google/ads/googleads/examples/remarketing/AddCustomerMatchUserList.java

Error : ADVERTISER_NOT_WHITELISTED_FOR_USING_UPLOADED_DATA

Analysis on
error:
https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/2018/11/update-to-customer-match-requirements.html

https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/6299717
https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/2018/11/update-to-customer-match-requirements.html

Above two links tell me that I need to ask Account manger to whitelist the
advertiser and whitelisting requirement says about account should have
payment history, $50, 000 spent etc.

Does this means I can not user this Customer match UserList functionality
in test account and also in production account those do not match the
requirement for whitelisting?

Thanks

Reporting on Responsive Display Ads with Ads API v3

2020-08-05 Thread Michael Birk
Hi,

Is it possible to generate detailed reports of the performance of
Responsive Display Ads using the Google Ads API v3? Ideally we'd get basic
performance metrics (clicks, impressions, etc) for each combination of
image, headline, description, and so on.

In the documentation I found the ad_group_ad_asset_view, which seems like
it should be the right interface to get performance metrics at the asset
level. However, when I query this resource, the results are empty (except
for App Campaigns). Is ad_group_ad_asset_view supported for Responsive
Display Ads?

Here's a sample query that I tried, but which returned an empty result:

SELECT
  ad_group_ad_asset_view.ad_group_ad,
  ad_group_ad_asset_view.asset,
  ad_group_ad_asset_view.field_type,
  ad_group_ad_asset_view.performance_label,
  metrics.impressions,
  metrics.clicks,
  metrics.cost_micros,
  metrics.conversions
FROM ad_group_ad_asset_view

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
mcb

User_ID customer match

What are the requirements to be able to upload user_ids through customer

I would like to stitch together the GAd cookie with our CRM data so that we

My other question, is it possible to build an audience based on an offline

Re: How to solve DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error ?

2020-08-05 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello Anton,

Each company is only supposed to be working with one developer token. So, the
expectation is that for each Cloud project there is only one developer token,
but you can have multiple Cloud projects per developer token. For example, you
may have one Cloud project for testing or a different Cloud project for a
different tool in the company. That will continue to be that way as we expect
every company to only use one developer token.

As a result, if you do experience DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED, that means you
already tied a developer token to a Cloud project and you will need to create a
new Cloud project. Thanks for taking the time to double-check!

Re: Need access to inherited apps

2020-08-05 Thread Daniel Day
Hi Bryan,

Yes, I checked that console page while logged into both of the accounts
that showed up on the OAuth consent screen and I don't see any projects
listed. The reason I'm trying to gain access is I'd like to get the
application we're using in our development environment promoted to a
production token so we can do testing against real Ads accounts.

I don't need to make any changes to the account that our production app is
running against but I'd like to at least to know what it is so we can
document it.

I'd be happy to PM you the client IDs, email addresses or any other details
you'd need to assist.

Thanks,
Daniel

you're making the query in the campaign account and not the manager account?
Manager accounts manage campaign accounts, and campaign accounts manage
campaigns/ads/adgroups, which means if you're querying in the Manager Account

Re: How to solve DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error ?

2020-08-05 Thread Anton Timenko
That’s pretty much understandable. But let’s suppose I have a an approved
developer token, and accidentally made a request in my Google Cloud
production project with another not approved developer token, which can
only be used with test accounts. Now I have no way to use my approved token
in my main production Google Cloud Project, and the only solution I have is
creating an another one production project just to use it with Google Ads
API, which for me looks like an ugly solution

I think it would be great to have some “reset” button to unlink already
linked developer token. Google Ads API settings in Google Cloud Console is
a great place where it should be. Also please take into account, that
almost year passed, and there is still no information about that behavior
in documentstion

Thanks for caring about your fellow developers who may bump into this. We did
have an information box on
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/first-call/dev-token. I've
changed it from an information box to a warning box based on your feedback. It
sounds like it may not have been obvious when running through the
documentation. I also added a line in our Common Errors guide
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/best-practices/common-errors#developer_token_prohibited)
 to make it easier for developers to figure out what to do if they do
unfortunately see this.

Having a reset button is an interesting idea. I'll float it by a few people. I
can't guarantee it will happen, but I'm definitely up for taking suggestions.

Take care,
Nadine, Google Ads API Team

Re: Reporting on Responsive Display Ads with Ads API v3

2020-08-05 Thread Michael Birk
Hi Nirmita, thanks for the response. However, while I am able to query the
ad_group_ad resource to get details about the configuration of the
responsive ad (such as the list of image assets, the list of headlines,
etc), I am only able to get aggregate metrics (clicks, impressions, etc)
about the overall ad -- not broken down by image or headline.

For example, I tried the following query:

SELECT
  ad_group_ad.ad.responsive_display_ad.descriptions,
  metrics.impressions
FROM ad_group_ad
WHERE ad_group_ad.ad.type = RESPONSIVE_DISPLAY_AD

In this case I got a response such as this (I have tweaked the values to
simplify and to not reveal any information. Also I have converted the
result to JSON):

{
"metrics": {
"impressions": {
"value": 24480
}
},
"ad_group_ad": {
"resource_name":
"customers/9876543210/adGroupAds/1234567890~234567890123",
"ad": {
"responsive_display_ad": {
"descriptions": [
{
"text": {
"value": "Buy our new product!"
}
},
{
"text": {
"value": "Want to buy our new product?"
}
}
]
},
"resource_name": "customers/9876543210/ads/234567890123"
}
}
}

Note that there is only one metric value reported, even though there are
two variations of the description. Is there a way (e.g. a segment?) for
the API to break down the "impressions" metric based on which description
was shown to the user?

thanks,
mcb

RE: Can I use Google Ads Test account for creating a Customer match user list and upload UserData to the list for targeting using new Ads API?

2020-08-05 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello,

Thank you for reaching out! Yes, you are correct. You will not be able to use
Customer Match within your test account as you do not fit the requirements for
allowlisting. Once you meet the requirements for Customer Match within a
production account, you may reach out to your technical account manager to see
if they can get you allowlisted for this feature. If you have any additional
questions, let me know.

RE: User_ID customer match

2020-08-05 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Nick,

Thank you for reaching out. You can refer to this support document to read
about the requirements for using Customer Match. For additional information on
requirements, you can also take a look at this blog post.

As for your second question, yes, it is possible to build an audience based on
an offline conversion event. As mentioned in this documentation, you can have a
basic_user_list that targets a specific conversion type. For more details, you
can refer to this guide.

Offline Conversion Upload (Python) - Empty Response

2020-08-05 Thread 'Jeff Feng' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
I'm currently using the python script here to upload
offline

conversions into my Google Ads account.

I've already setup the following prerequisites -

1) Approved developer token
2) Generated an OAuth client id / client secret / refresh token

After I run the script mentioned above, the Google Server responds with a
blank response (see below)

*Uploaded conversion that occurred at "" from Google Click ID "" to ""*

I included all of the required values in the API call, including my
customer_id, conversion_action_id (aka conversion action name), the Google
Click ID, and the conversion times / values.
Could someone help me understand why this is happening?

Re: Offline Conversion Upload (Python) - Empty Response
