Thanks Josh and Zweitze for all the help. It works now for me if I change

Error UNKNOWN at CustomerService->get()

2016-04-14 Thread fischi
Hi there,

I receive a strange error (code UNKNOWN) when trying to do a simple
get-request to read the CustomerService of an Authenticated User.
The logs show the following error (also the request ID):

server=adwords.google.com isFault=true faultMessage=[RequestError.UNKNOWN @

The SOAP Request and Response are pasted below.

Is there anything I can do to find out what is wrong with this particular
request?

Thanks in advance!

Integrating/Automating Offline Conversions Through AdWords API

2016-04-14 Thread erik . ratcliffe

I wanted to provide you with some background on what we’re using the API
for in order to facilitate better understanding of the issues we’re
encountering.

Our company TeenSafe (http://www.teensafe.com) offers a software service to
monitor their child’s digital activity. This service begins with a 7 day
free trial of our product to users. In order to begin the 7 day free trial,
the user must input their name, email and password to initially create
their account (registration). Once the user has registered their
information, they are prompted to the next page which asks for their
payment information. Upon submitting their payment info, the user is then
directed to our product dashboard where our pixel fires and a ‘Conversion’
is recorded.

Within AdWords, we’re currently only optimizing towards users that have
initiated a trial since that is the only mechanism which we can capture via
a pixel firing. However, our more important metric are the number of users
who go on to become a paid subscriber. We currently only track this in a
different database that records when a user’s credit card has been charged
(they’ve become an active paid subscriber). But we’ve found that we can
track ‘Offline’ conversions via the AdWords API integration, which we’re
attempting to complete. Our goal is to import these ‘Offline’ conversions
(users who are now paying subscribers) and have the AdWords platform
optimize towards those users, not just users who’ve started a free trial.

It seems as though we’ll be able to accomplish this by capturing the GCLID
of users that have started a trial, and somehow match that to the
information we receive in the backend once they’ve become a subscriber. The
issue we’re running into currently has to do with the API set up regarding
2 specific error messages -

1. We get some GCLID values as :
Cj0KEQjw3Le4BRDxx5bk4aDn9t4BEiQAfmxQGQR-b4O5HL5u6w, which are longer than
the others and receive this error :

An error has occurred: [OfflineConversionError.UNPARSEABLE_GCLID @
operations[0].operand]

2. For the others GCLID values, we receive this error :

An error has occurred: [OfflineConversionError.INVALID_CONVERSION_TYPE @
operations[0].operand]

We’re getting these errors when attempting to fill out these fields -

(

[gclid] => CPvi666GiMwCFdcZgQodOLULWQ

[conversionName] => Teensafe-Subscribers

[conversionTime] => 20160412 13 America/Los_Angeles

[conversionValue] => 14.95

)

Hopefully the context was beneficial to understanding what we’re trying to
do and what we need to do in order to complete the API integration. Please
let me know if there’s any other information I can provide to help
facilitate this process.

Thanks!

Re: Why is ManagedCustomer.accountLabels always NULL?

2016-04-14 Thread 'Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Yang,

I just tried the same sequence in v201603, and it also returned labels and
worked as expected when filtering by *AccountLabels*. If you are seeing
differences in behavior between v201601 and v201603, could you send your

Re: request size limit exceeded on sitelinks only

Hello,

The limit for extension setting services is 250 operations per request,
which is smaller than the normal limit of 5000. Please use under 250
operations per request and let me know if that works.

Re: run-time for multiple adword accounts

2016-04-14 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Yes, you can change the clientCustomerId during runtime. For example, in
Java you can use "session.setClientCustomerId(clientCustomerId)" to change
to a different AdWords account. You can find similar methods to do this in
client
libraries  in
other languages. When you change this, be sure to include the correct
OAuth2.0 credentials too for that account.

I hope this helps.

Shwetha

Re: How to extract information from Google Click ID (gclid) ?

2016-04-14 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

To reiterate, unfortunately not all information is available in the Click
Performance Report. The supported fields and their description is provided
here
.

You could probably use these fields:

   - CampaignId or CampaignName for utm_campaign
   - CriteriaId and CriteriaParameters for utm_keyword
   - AdFormat, AdNetworkType1 and AdNetworkType2 for utm_medium
   - ClickType for utm_source

This report contains the Gclid associated with the clicks.
I hope this helps.

Regards,
Shwetha
