Hi,
I am having the problem suddenly that lilo wouldn't boot from MBR anymore,
but only from floppy. I get the error message "No operating system found". I
didn't get any errors when I re/installed lilo and so checked lilo that
actually gets installed in the mbr:

Try to put this in your /etc/default/pcmcia:
# Defaults for pcmcia (sourced by /etc/init.d/pcmcia)
PCMCIA=yes
PCIC=yenta_socket

CARDMGR_OPTS=
This works for me and I had the same problems like you.

Its either the maestro or maestro3 kernel module, more likely maestro3. Try
modprobe maestro3

If it doeasn't work try maestro instead of maestro3.
Don't forget to change the rights for the dsp or otherwise only root will be
able to play sound.

Hi,
What is the preferred way of setting up usb in Debian? I suppose you have to
install the usbmgr, and then specify the host adapter in
/etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf like this(if you have an uhci one):
host usb-uhci
and let the manager do the rest. Is that correct?
How do I get the information to a
implement usb installation as I figured it out and you confirmed it.
Thanks,
Marc

Hi,
This is what helped me
- open /etc/network/interfaces
- Find the line starting with auto.
- if this line contains your ethernet device, remove it
- on my system the file looks like this:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet static
address 143.52.70.216
broadcast 143.52.70.25
