Now I have done that but my mail to the asxxx author was rejected.

I guess my main question wasn't clear enough.
There is one release critical bug in the Debian package of sdcc 2.9.0, see:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=552867
and I need to fix it.

I have made a new Debian package out of the svn repository, revision 5568 that
I would like to get uploaded to Debian but I don't like to release SVN
packages in Debian without discussing them with the upstream authors first.
It seems like a patch to fix version 2.9.0 will be big and I would rather
not have to wait for next release of sdcc but I will upgrade the Debian
package as soon as the next sdcc version will be released.
Do you have any opinion or advice?

The Debian package can be found on my server if anyone is interested:
deb-src http://195.198.146.229/debian/ source/
deb http://195.198.146.229/debian/ i386/

Regards
Gudjon
