Matthew, It seems to me that there's a setup file available on the Maxim web site. That allows you to use the DS89C420 as the target. The setup doesn't care about the additional code memory space. Also, BTW, that can be firmware controlled. The differences between the '420 and 430/450 don't make any difference.
