Summary: Add horizontal scrolling support to the copy mode Group: GNU Screen Submitter: None Submitted: Mon 21 Oct 2024 08:36:58 AM UTC Category: Feature Request Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: None Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Work Required: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 21 Oct 2024 08:36:58 AM UTC By: Anonymous I like to set "wrap off" sometimes to make certain terminal output more readable. However, presently, I can't horizontally scroll to access data that has run off the end of the screen, without doing "wrap on" again. When in copy mode, I'd like to be able to use my right arrow key to scroll the output horizontally. To get an idea of what I mean, you may be able to do: $ sudo less -S /var/log/syslog If your terminal is narrow enough and the lines in your syslog are long enough, you can scroll horizontally, with ease, to view the remainder of long lines. Very nice.
