Hi Jan, you should not need any additional configuration. I just tried my HP ScanJet 6350c with libusb without problems (up to now I used scanner.o). You can try to reduce your hp.conf to the minimum entries that you need:
usb 0x03f0 0x0201 Just this line. From the listing I see that the libusb-device is opened successfully. It writes two commands to the scanner. When trying to read the response, it gets an error "read failed (End of file reached)". I don't know the reason. But it looks like it is located in the USB-part. Maybe someone else on the list has encountered a similar problem ?
