Hi, I'm trying to make work my snapscan 310 (with the AVA-1505AE SCSI controler on ISA card).
At this point the scanner is recognized by sane-find-scanner program but it is not by scanimage or xscanimage. Maybe it's a bug or maybe it's a config problem, i don't know. I tried the FAQ, the archive mailling-list but didn't find any answerd. Some infos : I'm running mandrake 8.1, i installed sane 1.0.7 from source with the snapscan patch (snapscan-20020414.tar.gz) - the current version, isn't it ?, To make the AVA-1505AE works i use this method : My "lilo.conf" : image=/boot/vmlinuz label=linux root=/dev/hda6 initrd=/boot/initrd.img append=" hdc=ide-scsi devfs=mount quiet aha152x=0x0140,10,2" vga=788 read-only I have to do this first : # modprobe aha152x Then the scanner is well know by the system : [yan@localhost tools]$ cat /proc/scsi/scsi Attached devices: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: YAMAHA Model: CRW4001 Rev: 1.0c Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00 Vendor: AGFA Model: SNAPSCAN 310 Rev: 1.20 Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 02 The find scanner output : $ sane-find-scanner -v # Note that sane-find-scanner will find any scanner that is connected # to a SCSI bus and some scanners that are connected to the Universal # Serial Bus (USB) depending on your OS. It will even find scanners # that are not supported at all by SANE. It won't find a scanner that # is connected to a parallel or proprietary port. # You may want to run this program as super-user to find all devices. # Once you found the scanner devices, be sure to adjust access # permissions as necessary. sane-find-scanner: searching for SCSI scanners: sane-find-scanner: checking /dev/scanner... open ok sane-find-scanner: found SCSI scanner "AGFA SNAPSCAN 310
