When it runs as a service there is no way to interact with it. There was also a critical problem that I no longer recall but could probably duplicate. Furthermore on both my Windows XP and my Server 2008 machine when run as a service I somewhat frequently get the Method ~of ~ errors along with Pings coming back 0%. This requires a restart of the app. I thought it was windows 2008 specific until one day another admin ran it as an app on my XP machine (out of habit) and I got the same problem.
