The first test to do would be to leave all fields empty, and then step-by-step add new fields. For OID I would not set *, just leave it empty if you want it for all OIDs.

Running beta build 6.1.2198. I have set up a box to send traps to the SA box. Now this is where it gets confusing. When setting up the trap alert I enter a name, Agent IP and Source IP(same as Agent IP) I enter the Enterprise OID and Community. In the OID: filed I enter a * Does this sound correct so far? I can see the count go up on the received traps but I do not get the alert. I have confirmed the email is working with other alerts. Now the second issue is I am trying to also relay a received trap to another machine running snmptrapd. So I set up a "send snmp trap alert" using the "original agent ip as agent ip" and using a Enterprise OID of .1 and a OID of * Neither of these options work. What am I doing wrong Mark -----Original Message----- From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dirk Bulinckx Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2008 9:21 AM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: RE: [SA-list] Servers Alive stops checking I would suggest to explain the problem on the list and if it's an easy solution we can do it all on the list, else we'll take it off-list and send at the end the result to the list.
