Does the system running SA have more then 1 IP address? Do you have an anti-virus or anti-spam or (personal) firewall running on the system running SA?

I have variously used the send direct toggle setting and also ping mail server off and on. Without luck. I am using the latest version of 6 . What else could I be doing wrong?
