Hi,
I used to work with the sage 4.4 version and just downloaded the 5.7 version
and it's just so different!

It seems like I can't write my codes the way I used to in the previous version,
i.e. write the code on gedit and then compile with the terminal.

Apparently, I can only use the sage Notebook, which I find everything but user
friendly!! (I'm far from being a pro in computer science and I haven't worked
with sage for that long...)

Is there any way I can work with a text editor on sage 5.7?

I don't think anything should have changed significantly. Can you be more explicit about exactly what your workflow in 4.4 was, and how it gives you errors in 5.7?

It's possible that some function names have changed, etc. But you should still be able to work just fine by editing files in gedit and running them with Sage.

Thanks,

Jason
