I'm guessing the problem was that you installed *openssl* related
packages.  The best advice I can give you is to start over, and don't
install that package.

Also, don't install an optional spkg unless you have a reason
to do so.    For example, if you can build Sage from source in the first
place, you shouldn't need to build gcc4.2.1.
