Jason, your right in so far that the expand tool does not embed a picture. However, it does also not embed genuine OO formulas. It represents the formulas as text with special fonts and special formatting and is therefore restricted to simple formulas. Your lead that a latex-formula interface for OO is planned is worth checking. Maybe there is already a alpha or beta version. Thank you Roland
