I meant to say jsMath has the ability (not sage), and that it could be added to sage by someone who knows how to do that. I have not looked at any of the sage code, so I don't know how easy that would be, but it seems to me that whatever inserts the call to include jsMath.js should be able to include the noGlobal.js file as well. I don't know if sage uses the jsMath/easy/ load.js, but that might make it easier for your users to configure jsMath to their liking, as it provides control over things like global mode, image fonts, and so on. > I'm sure what the poster really wants is a way to turn off the jsmath > font notification warning, which we can easily do, but shouldn't until > a nicer warning system is in place (the current one is way too disturbing > as is). We have a trac ticket about implementing this and will soon. There are a variety of approaches to making changes in the font warnings. You can view several in http://www.math.union.edu/locate/jsMath/authors/warnings.html I would be happy to assist someone familiar with the sage codebase to implement one of these. > I'm curious what the status > of your jsmath equation editor is. I saw it in a talk from a year ago, > tried it out, and I think it is AWESOME -- easily the nicest equation > editor I've ever used, even though it isn't finished. Thanks for the support. I think it has a lot of promise, but it is nowhere near a finished product at the moment. It was the result of about a week's worth of coding for a conference at the end of 2006 (where you probably saw it). There is still a lot to do before it is usable, and right now it is only a proof-of-concept. I'm afraid that it will be too slow in the long run, as the connection between the editor and jsMath is not tight enough (jsMath re-renders the complete equation for every action that you take, and that is very slow). On the other hand, I have a thesis student working on some of the interface issues this term, and perhaps something will come of that. > So I strongly encourage > your to make a web page about it, officially release it, whatever. It is a > very cool piece of code. Thank you. I know that it is something that is important and would be valuable to have, and I do plan to continue work on it as soon as I can. But time is very limited, and I'm not sure when that will be. When I have something more finished, I will certainly make that public.
