Hi, I've posted a new sage-vmware-2.7.1.zip sage appliance to http://www.sagemath.org/SAGEbin/vmware/ I was careful to make sure there are no lock files in the zip archive. I also replaced the server kernel with a generic i386 kernel, which should work on far more machines. Finally, it's fully upgraded to sage-2.7.1.
