+1  That is probably very typical for anyone who is not a grad
student.

In addition, many of the people who might be interested in improving
doc (probably not a majority... but I can think of several) have
intense enough teaching schedules that coming mid-semester is
unrealistic unless it happens to coincide with their spring break, and
every school seems to have a different one of those.
