Speaking of updating singular there is a 3.1.3.1 release now but I haven't tried to build libsingular for that release and then build sage on top of it - that's the part that failed miserably in 3.1.2. On the other hand singular seems to be getting a python interface it may be an idea to investigate switching to that.
