For one, there are subtle political differences between the two,
involving the FSF and Microsoft, etc... (Some quick Googling will give
you some idea of the issues.) I don't want to start a flame war or
anything, just point out that some people prefer one version over
another, and especially when funding is involved, you need to pay
attention to these differences...
