I'm not sure it is obvious. I'd certainly look at Maple, MATLAB, Mathematica etc. The thing about Sage is that one could certainly use it as a basis for accounting. I could easily see someone writing such an application. That could cause an issue later. There are certainly financial add-ons for Mathematica.
