I published my Axiom book on Lulu. Absolutely minimum hassle. I uploaded a PDF and some cover artwork, ordered a copy and it arrived. I purchased the ISBN number which makes it somewhat harder to change but implies that Amazon will carry the book.
I priced the book about $1 over the minimum cost, total about $14. I receive checks occasionally but I don't plan to retire on the income. On Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Axiom-1-Tutorial-Timothy-Daly/dp/141166597X (new $22.51 used $29.84) On Lulu http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/axiom-volume-1-tutorial/190827 (download $14.36, paperback $24.64) It is quite amusing to me that the used copies are worth more than the originals. I also ship the source latex and the PDF with Axiom and on Wikipedia so I guess I'm undercutting my own sales. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axiom_computer_algebra_system Overall I'm very satisfied with Lulu.
