I think you will finally bomb out at the 'modified sage files' in c_lib, 
which appears to be a bug that only shows up when the Sun C++ compiler 
is present. (Just like the second of the two Solaris polybori bugs).

I have a hacked version of SCons which would fix that, by making SCons 
unaware of /opt/SUNWspro/bin/, but that is not really the answer. We 
need to sort out why some Sage packages are using a mix of GNU and Sun 
compilers. It might be a fault in SCons, or it might not be (to state 
the obvious I guess!!)

Steven Knight, one of the SCons developers, now has an account on t2 and 
intends adding 't2' to his SCons build farm, so any change he commits to 
CVS will be tested on t2. This should hopefully improve the Solaris 
support of SCons. But for now, I think you build will fail there.
