After uncompressing pari-2.3.3.p1.spkg, I see two "junk" files:

spkg-install.orig
spkg-install.patch

If you have already patched the file spkg-install with the flag -fPIC,
then you should delete those two junk files. To view all your changes,
do

hg diff

If everything looks good to you, then check in your changes with

hg ci

This will open up an editor. Enter a meaningful commit message.
Preferably, your commit message should follow this template

trac 6445: <meaningful-commit-message-here>

Then create an updated version of your spkg and post a link to that
updated version on ticket #6445.
