Thank you. I'll take a look at that. Assuming it will only issue 'arch' 
to get the information on the machine, then both t2 and my machine at 
home will return 'sun4', despite the fact they are quite different boxes.

It would be good to chose between the sun4u (UltraSPARC machines) and 
the sun4v (T2/T2+ multi-core, multi-threaded processor). I got the 
feeling reading the docs that the 'arch' command is issued. I hope its a 
bit more configurable than that.
