Oops. I was hoping that since clisp was the culprit that got LANG added in the first place, this problem might just disappear since we've switched to ecl -- no such luck, I guess. Now, I'm curious about the issues R has -- do you need LANG to be set whenever you *use* R, or just when you run the spkg-install? Because if it's the former, we're back to square one with #2513 ...
