I downloaded and applied this patch, after removing and replacing the defective file (sage-doctest). Rerunning "make -j2 test" gave me similar results. However, examining the logs showed me that, somehow, I got chocolate in my peanut butter (dependencies on an earlier .rc were floating through the alpha0 "local/bin"; no idea how that happened; it wasn't there with 3.2.1, which I upgraded from).
