A few more small typos: project_description.pdf:
pg. 13: Dsage -> DSage at the end of the "Implementing Software" paragraph Not a typo, but weird on a first reading: when describing the Riemann hypothesis, you say that it is the conjecture that \zeta(s) has all zeros in the upper half plane on the line Re(s) = 1/2. I recognize that this is equivalent (via the functional equation) to the usual statement, and avoids mentioning the trivial zeros coming from the gamma factor, but couldn't you just say "all zeros in the critical strip 0 < Re(s) < 1 lie on the line Re(s) = 1/2"? If anyone reading the proposal is only vaguely familiar with RH, this might seem fishy to them. Stein biographical sketch: pg. 2: You use both "adviser" and "advisor" in the same place. Surprisingly (to me, at least), both of these spellings are considered okay (I've only ever seen advisor), but google tells me that mixing the two is generally considered taboo. references_cited.pdf: [DFGHIL]: Robert Miller should be capitalized. budget.pdf: I've never written an NSF proposal, so maybe this comment should be ignored, but I'd consider writing "None" in the fields you left blank; at first glance, I thought the budget just wasn't finished, before realizing you're just not requesting anything in the other areas (salary, personnel, etc). -cc On Jan 10, 2008 8:32 PM, David Harvey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Here are some random things, nothing terribly important. > > project_summary.pdf: > > * "Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan" should use en-dashes not hyphens (this > occurs in a few other files too I think, also Sato-Tate, etc. (but > not Swinnerton-Dyer!)) > > * "Much of the data that arises out of these projects will also be of > great value to large parts of > mathematics."
