I've looked into Java3D a bit and it seems to need all kinds of scary fiddling and installing to get working - especially in a browser. Instructions I found referred to "jre1.2" and "java2". Given that "jre1.6" seems to be current, I think those instructions might be outdated.
Some people here seem to have been able to get java3d working in their browser. Does anybody have a pointer to a reasonable installation guide for, say, fedora 7? Any attempt on my side has led to sending firefox into a non-responsive busy-loop. I agree that screenshots of java3d look really promising, but Ted's applet has the distinct advantage of actually putting something in my browser that works. (although it looks like it will only be able to make graphs - no general 3d pictures) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URLs: http://sage.scipy.org/sage/ and http://modular.math.washington.edu/sage/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
