So the problem of this mailer was that so-called untagged responses were interpreted much too seriously. The patch is very simple ([1] is still too large), and has been pushed to [master] and all the [stable/] series. I wonder if you would like to test it with your own workflow? It seems to work well here. If you would, do not refrain to ask for help.
