That works, I should see the light on this before the weekend, am right now on 
a Mageia alpha, away from my studio setup on SuSE

It´s not a toy, Yamaha mox8, though I´m still totally green on it. It does show 
up as 6 or more devices so I guess it´s  multi whatever.  One of my problems is 
lack of intimate familiarity with rosegarden, and jack, and qsynth, and ports 
and connections, and...  I´ll be soliciting tutorial-capable users beore long, 
I just need time to formulate a propo$al :-)
