We have D2 Phaser instrument at our institute. It is five years old and quite robust. It is quite low maintenance, as it does not have a chiller. As the detector is a Lynx eye detector, t he counts are good. Therefore long time data collection can also be used for Rietveld refinement. The only drawback I personally feel is that once the machine is closed we cannot see the inside as the monitor is attached to the door. On the whole it is a good machine for phase identification and room temperature Rietveld quality data collection .
