I could have saved you a lot of trouble earlier, if I had been thinking. The easiest way to fix it is probably to remove the current contents of /usr/lib/rpm, and grab the tarball I just made. It occured to me 30 seconds after I left the house earlier that a tar archive would be handy. :) So, try this: Grab the tarball I just made: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/rpmfiles.tar.gz cd /usr/lib/rpm/ rm -f * copy the tarball to /usr/lib/rpm and run: tar -xvzf rpmfiles.tar.gz That should extract all the files and symlinks, preserving their permissions. Basically, everything should be owner 'rpm' and group 'rpm' Let me know if that helps. - -D - -- pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/pgpkey.txt - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8XafOeMAUbzJhSVcRAssxAKCCQVGEjKiw4G1B9/oJqN8+cnGbFwCgpTXR A6P8sRr3+VvU8fsX/AhTytk= =ePKf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
