*** Sorry for the late reply but I took a few days off as I spent too much
time on this PAM business and started to make more and more mistakes. If
you remember I had also problems with my servers sendmail not accepting
connections!? Well, it turned out I forgot to... start sendmail! %-( Just
to tell you how far gone I was after spending hours in front of the
screen.

So, the system still logs an authentication error from pam_rhosts_auth
each time I connect to IMAP. The stupid thing is that it doesn't seem to
have any effect at all (??).

I was wondering if the following has to do something with my PAM problem;
I tried to let syslog log some messages also to the server. However
"sendto" tells me "Connection refused"!??
