It's 05:45pm now and I haven't moved an inch towards a solution. As you probably understand, I'm close to explosing. It can't be true that the system doesn't allow me to switch this damn PAM thing off and get rid of it until I need it! The dosc's were of no help as they expect some basic knowledge about the subject. As I mentioned PAM isn't my priority now so I was hoping to find out how to switch off this PAM autentication stuff. In the mean time I have created an /etc/hosts.equiv file, I have put "required" to "optional" in all the files concerning remote login, imap and pop. The result is the same as when I started this morning: "May 1 17:28:41 linuxserv pam_rhosts_auth[1537]: denied to [EMAIL PROTECTED] as zoki: access not allowed" Whatever I do, the system doesn't allow me to connect, no, actually it allows me to connect but it logs the message to /var/log/messages. One of the problems now is that I can't connect to linuxserv's sendmail to send from the Linux station (linux.magic.fr). To make it worse, it worked for a slight moment this morning at 03:25am but a few hours later it blocks all access. I haven't been able to understand why as my notes don't show anything specific. I installed the imap server, adjusted sendmail.cf... and tested the setup. So, guy's, don't bother about the sendmail problem as I have the O'Reilly next to me and www.moongroup.com still works but I would like to find out the secret of deblocking the access to my own server!
