Very interesting. I recently had a similar problem when I installed a
9.1 GB drive. I had an old 1 GB EIDE drive in the machine, and even
though I told my system BIOS to boot from SCSI, and had DISABLED the
EIDE drive there, LILO tried to install itself on the MBR of /dev/hda1.
I had to physically disconnect the drive to get LILO to find the correct
MBR.
This might just be a problem with the Redhat installer, as I suspect it
would work if one manually specified the correct partition to
/etc/lilo.conf .
